Holiday Festivities This Year in Atlanta

Here in Atlanta, the weather outside doesn’t get too frightful around the holidays, but we love it that way. It doesn’t snow, which we prefer because we have things to do and places to go! Atlanta has a lot of holiday festivities to offer this season, and here at Got Bugs, we plan on taking advantage of as many festive events as we can. Here are some events in Atlanta that our families are looking forward to. We hope to see you there!

A Christmas Carol

Charles Dickens’s Christmas classic comes to life on the Alliance Stage this season. Performances are happening daily between now and December 27th, and this story is perfect for the whole family. Children aged 5-12 get discounted rates for ticket and regular pricing ranges between $14 and $78.

The Last Night of Ballyhoo

For those of the Jewish faith, this is something for you. This funny play is about a family that lives in Atlanta in 1939, deciding who is going to the social event of the season, Ballyhoo. There are show times on December 12th, 13th, 18th, and 19th, and ticket prices range from:

  • Adult Reserved $23
  • Student/Senior Reserved $20
  • Adult General Admission $18
  • Student/Senior General Admission $15

Candlelight Nights at the Atlanta History Center

For the history enthusiasts out there, this Christmas celebration is for you. You will walk through a trail lit by candlelight, and visit three historic homes to see how Christmas was celebrated in the pioneer days, the Civil War era, and the 1930s. There’s no better way to learn about how holidays were spent here in Atlanta throughout the years than by witnessing this historical event. Tickets are $8 for children and $15 for adults.

Festival of the SEAson at the Georgia Aquarium

From now through Christmas Day, the Georgia Aquarium has been turned into a winter wonderland! Not only will Santa Claus be at the aquarium, but Scuba Claus will take part in the special dive shows! There will be tree lighting ceremonies, live entertainment, and a festive light and music show. If you buy tickets in advance on their website between now and New Year’s Eve you’ll get 20% off. Regular ticket prices are $29.95 for children ages 3-12, $35.95 for adults, and $31.95 for senior.

Fantasy in Lights at Callaway Gardens

Here in Atlanta, we’re lucky to have one of the best light shows in the world. National Geographic Traveler listed this light display as one of the top 10 light displays out there. There are 15 magical scenes that use over 8 million lights! You can either drive your own car or be a passenger in an open trolley. Purchasing tickets in advance and online will save you some money, and prices are $28 for adults and $14 for children ages 6-12.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

This play is based off of the classic movie, and the production value is amazing. Bring the kids to watch this story come to life between now and December 27th -- with the exception of Christmas Day. You can see the play at the Center for Puppetry Arts, and tickets range between $20.50 to $24.50, depending on which day of the week you attend!

Enjoy Your Holiday Season!

This is one of the worst times of year for bugs and rodents in Atlanta. They’re enticed by the smell of your holiday cooking and are always looking for ways to get inside your home. If you are suffering from a bug or rodent infestation this holiday season, let Got Bugs handle it. With all the other commitments you have this time of year, we understand that you don’t have time to deal with pest control.

Have a happy, festive, and healthy holiday season!
